Types of Fire Supression Water Systems

1.png

Wet Pipe Sprinkler Systems

  • How they work: These systems have pipes filled with pressurized water, ready to discharge through sprinkler heads when a fire is detected.

  • Advantages: Simple, reliable, and widely used.

  • Disadvantages: Not suitable for areas where freezing temperatures are possible

Dry Pipe Sprinkler Systems

How they work: These systems have pipes filled with pressurized air or nitrogen instead of water. When a fire is detected, a valve opens, allowing water to flow into the pipes and through the sprinkler heads

Water Mist Systems

  • These systems use specialized nozzles to discharge a fine mist of water droplets, creating a cooling and smothering effect on the fire.

  • Advantages:

Effective for minimizing water damage, particularly in areas where water damage is a concern.

Water Mist Fire Supression Systems

Water mist systems are becoming a popular fire suppression option for domestic properties, offering a more targeted and less water-intensive approach compared to traditional sprinkler systems. These systems use high-pressure water to create a fine mist that can rapidly cool a fire and suppress it, minimizing potential water damage

  • Fine Mist:

Water mist systems discharge very small water droplets (less than 1000 microns) to create a fine mist, which is more effective at cooling and suppressing fires than traditional sprinklers.

  • Reduced Water Damage:

The fine mist used by these systems requires less water, minimizing the amount of water damage that can occur during fire suppression.

  • Cost-Effective:

Water mist systems can be more economical to install than traditional sprinkler systems, particularly in larger homes or apartment buildings.

  • Suitable for Various Fires:

These systems are effective in suppressing a range of fire types, including grease fires and fires involving electrical equipment.

  • Discreet Installation:

Water mist heads can be flush-mounted or recessed into ceilings, making them visually unobtrusive.

  • Automated Operation:

Water mist systems are typically fully automated, responding to heat sensors to activate the system and suppress the fire.

  • Life Safety:

In addition to protecting property, these systems can also enhance life safety by providing a more effective means of fire suppression and reducing the spread of smoke and hea
